Year 2 Author Visit

Last week, Year 2 students were given the opportunity to learn some strategies that authors use when writing narratives.

 
A writing workshop was conducted by Mrs Kirsty Eagar who is a successful author with four novels published to date. Most importantly, Kirsty is mother to Harper (Year 2) and Charlee (Year 4) here at EHPS!
 
We learnt that the planning stage of writing a story is one of the most important aspects. Developing main characters, opening scenes and thinking about one thing the main character
wants and one thing that is going to happen to him or her is especially beneficial. 
 
We now have plenty of inspiration to try writing our own narratives in class!
 
Thank you Kirsty for visiting us and sharing your expertise. What a wonderful opportunity for our students to have professionals from our own school community to learn from.
