Stories and highlights
There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.
Year 6 students Mason C (Boys Touch Football), Benny M (Boys Netball), Mahlia K (Girls Touch Football) and Ella F-W (Girls Touch Football) who are all heading to Ballarat, Victoria this weekend to compete at the School Sports Australia Championships.
All of these students have been selected as part of their respective NSWPSSA Teams which is a huge achievement.
Year 5 students participated in the NEST HPGE Enrichment Program 'Flying Through Time', which explored how people lived in the Roman Empire through an investigation of historical sources.
Parents and carers were welcomed to the afternoon showcase where our young historians demonstrated their skills.
"I wanted to take a moment to formally express my sincere gratitude to one of your class teachers, Laura Vander Straaten, for the incredible work and dedication she has shown to our son this year.
We’ve come such a long way, and she has truly been the backbone of this journey. From the moment our son found out Laura would be his teacher, he was excited and determined never to miss a day of school again. Under her care, he has rediscovered his joy for learning, his motivation to do well, and his belief in himself. With her support he has become a confident, self-aware student who can articulate his feelings and use strategies to manage challenges, to me these skills that will serve him far beyond the classroom. She is a truly exceptional teacher and someone who changes young lives through her positivity, empathy, and teaching strategies". - An EHPS parent
"I wanted to send a note to thank you so much for the efforts you are putting into the emotional and social education of the class. My daughter is coming home abuzz and fulfilled, having expanded her friendships and enjoying new social experiences.
The talk about the "fruit bowl" and the new learnings she is having, has been so heartwarming to hear.
Her emotional development and the skills she is learning around boundary setting are the most important things I think she could learn. I’m so grateful that she gets to learn these things at such an early stage of development, before phones etc, become part of the picture.
You’re doing a great job! I can’t imagine it’s easy, but it’s incredibly impactful". - An EHPS parent
