Parents and citizens’ association

The parents and citizens' association (P&C) at Elanora Heights Public School is in place to support the school in enriching the education of the school's students. It provides a mechanism for parents, carers and citizens of the Elanora Heights community to actively engage with the school at a variety of levels and assist with the goals and strategic directions of the school.  It is also a wonderful way to meet other parents and community members and learn more about the school's operational organisation.

2024 P & C Committee:

  • President: Jessica Evans
  • Vice President: Jess Hodgkinson & Kate Schlosser
  • Secretary - Lauren Sciacca
  • Assistant Secretary: Stephanie Miller
  • Treasurer: Elizabeth Ashley
  • Uniform Shop Liason: Emma Dacker

Please email elanorahtspandc@gmail.com if you wish to contact the P&C in regards to any matter.

P&C meetings

The P&C meeting provides a forum for parents to provide valuable support for programs, initiate school activities and become more informed about the education of their children. It's also a great way to meet other parents and gain an insight into the workings of the school.

The P&C usually meets in the staff room on Wednesday evenings of either week 6 of each term, at 7pm. All are welcome. You can email any items to go on the agenda the week prior to a meeting to elanorahtspandc@gmail.com. You do not have to attend in order for the issue to be discussed, however it would be recommended.

The AGM is held in week 6 of Term 4 at 7pm, immediately before the last P&C meeting for the year. All committee & sub-committee positions are available, and the attending P&C members vote for the nominated persons.

Becoming a P&C member allows you to vote at P&C meetings and the AGM. You do not have to hold a position in any committee. Membership is $1 per year.

Parent involvement

Parents can be involved with the P&C through voluntarily working in the Canteen and Uniform Shop, working bees (see below) and helping with our fundraising events. Parent representatives are also encouraged to join or actively participate in sub-committees that include the Music Program, Canteen, Uniform Shop and the Fundraising/Social Committee. Please email the P&C on elanorahtspandc@gmail.com if you would like to join any committee/s or have a chat to any of our members at a meeting.

Please note all volunteers working in the school are required to complete an Appendix 5 Voluntary Declaration form - kindly visit the School Office to complete the form and take along a passport, drivers licence and medicare card as ID prior to volunteering for the first time. This only needs to be done once in your lifetime at EHPS.

Voluntary contributions

Every year the P&C facilitates a voluntary financial contribution to supplement the school's allocated government funding to support students at the school. This is one of many mechanisms that provide additional funding directed to educational resourcing. Contributions of any amount may be made at any time by Direct Deposit to:

BSB: 062208
Account: 00900592
Reference: 'VC, your child's surname, your child's class' in the description line.

Alternatively, you can contribute when the P&C issues their annual forms to cover voluntary contributions.

Working bees

With our beautiful bush surrounds, we unfortunately do not have enough funds in the school budget to maintain them all, so once a term we have a Working Bee. Parents are invited to come along (with or without kids) and we have a list of tasks to achieve on the day. We ask for green thumbs, painters, library book coverers, canteen cleaners or high-pressure hose operators - even our Principal chips in and gives a helping hand! The School Newsletter will mention what the focus for each Working Bee may be so keep an eye out for this information. Anyone who has any machinery that may be of assistance to help with our weeding, mulching and cleaning is especially welcome.

Check the school calendar for Working Bee dates.
