Welcome to our Music program

There are many wonderful reasons to join the school band and strings programs. Your child will have the opportunity to learn a skill that can be used for the rest of their lives whilst also gaining confidence through public performance. Studies have shown that learning to play an instrument enhances students' performance in math, language, arts, foreign language and other academic areas.

The school music groups play at school events, such as Grandfriends and Open Day and the Elanora Extravaganza night, as well as performing at music festivals and other community events.

To create a successful program we require positive parental involvement. Encouraging your child to practice and ensure weekly lessons are attended, really helps the student to progress and enjoy learning their instrument.

Please see the EHPS Band & Strings website for more information.

If you wish your child to join a band or string ensemble, or have a related question, please email the school office on elanorahts-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au

Performances:

It is expected that all students attend concerts that have been scheduled. Performance opportunities are rare and our musicians work very hard in rehearsals every week to achieve a great standard. When a student can't make a performance it's like the goalie in soccer or the goal shooter in netball not turning up to the game – everyone on the team has an important role to play and everyone needs to be there to make the team work. If it is not possible to attend, please let your Conductor know ASAP. Thanks for your support!

Please see the Events page for details on all upcoming events & performances. These are updated regularly, as details are finalised, and will also be emailed to parents.

Videos of Music Groups:
