Strings:
The Elanora Heights Public School String Program offers the opportunity to play Violin, Viola, Cello and Double Bass.
To be part of this program, private lessons are compulsory, and are coordinated by the parent outside of school hours. Children are welcome to join the String Program at any point during their schooling at EHPS, and will be placed in an ensemble for which their playing level is appropriate. Broadly there are 3 tiers to the program:
- String Beans (Beginner Strings) - generally year 2 for the first term of the year before joining the Mezzo Strings as the Junior Strings Ensemble.
- Mezzo Strings - years 3 and 4, and
- Senior Strings - generally years 4-6.
Aside from school performances and local Instrumental Festivals, the Senior Strings have the opportunity to perform at the Opera House in the prestigious Arts Unit Festival of Instrumental Music.
